You are Invited! Buckeye Hosts Buckeye Fresh! Events Across Ohio
Increasing Buckeye Members’ access to healthy food
Access to healthy, affordable food is one of the key social determinants of health and remains a challenge in many low-income communities. Buckeye is launching its signature program, Buckeye Fresh! across Ohio this summer. Buckeye is partnering with Produce Perks, a regional nonprofit that provides a $1 for $1 match for SNAP customers to spend on healthy foods at farmers’ markets statewide.
During each of the six Buckeye Fresh! Events, Buckeye members will receive $10 in vouchers for FREE fruits and vegetables at the market. Buckeye member children get to shop, too, with their own $1 Buckeye Buck. In addition, Buckeye members (and non-members) who are SNAP/EBT eligible can earn up to $20 additional dollars at the market from Produce Perks. Members and non-members alike will also enjoy the FREE family fun activities at Buckeye Fresh! events like kids activities, gift basket raffles, healthy food samples, health screenings and pictures with Buckley.
